DSC00674.JPG One of the buildings I walk by on the way to the office. I like walking to work....especially when it's at 10:30 in the morning! Boy, they are civilized here!

DSC00676.JPG Vladimir and his mother made me an Easter cake! Yummy!

DSC00677.JPG At the end of the street that my hotel is on (about 100 yards from the hotel.) I walk by this every day. This is City Hall. Notice the cannon on the left - used during the Crimean war.

DSC00678.JPG More of the City Hall with a monument to Pushkin in the foreground.

DSC00679.JPG Same.

DSC00680.JPG I walk by this, too. This is the side of the Opera House.
|
DSC00682.JPG Hehehe. They don't call me "Shaky" for nothin! (There are lights strung on the trees in front of my hotel, and with a slow shutter speed it looks like this!)
|
DSC00685.JPG This is what the street in front of my hotel is made of. They are digging it up for some reason - these hand-cut rocks would be worth a fortune back home!

DSC00686.JPG Can you guess what that hole in the wall is for? (Cat door.)

DSC00690.JPG This is a huge entrance to a huge building - it used to be a philharmonic hall, but now it's used as some kind of stock exchange.
I tried to get the ceiling in the shot, but it was too large, and didn't come out well if I pointed straight up. You could drive two semi's stacked on top of each other, with trailers, up this entrance.
